Target, the superstore, has announced that it will no longer allow the Salvation Army to solicit donations at or near its stores at Christmas time in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Has the Grinch won?

Last year the Salvation Army collected $750,000 at these stores to help the hungry, homeless, and despairing of society. Target does not want these people helpled, evidently, but it does want them as customers. Will Target donate $750,000 to the poor and hurting?

Picking on the Salvation Army? The most charitable and decent organization in the US?

Target customers should respond with a boycott of Target stores. Maybe feeling the financial pinch will bring Target management back to decency. Merry Christmas, Target!
